Decision Console is built for teams. This article covers how roles and permissions work, how Admins invite and manage users, how usage is tracked across accounts, and how seats and billing are handled.
Roles and Permissions #
Decision Console supports two user roles, the Console Admin and the Console Analyst:
| Capability | Console Admin | Console Analyst |
| Run identity checks and drill into attribute details | Yes | Yes |
| View their own usage | Yes | Yes |
| View account-wide usage and per-user activity | Yes | No |
| Add team members | Yes | No |
| Change a team member’s role | Yes | No |
| Deactivate or reactivate a team member | Yes | No |
| View other team members’ details | Yes | No |
| View and manage seat quota | Yes | No |
The Console Admin is the organizational administrator, while the Console Analyst is the reviewer who uses Decision Console day-to-day.
The first user who creates the account is automatically assigned the Admin role. Analysts never see seat information, regardless of plan.
Inviting and Managing Users #
Admins can invite analysts and other admins directly in Decision Console. Before adding additional members, you must update your seat quota. After you have additional seats available there are two ways to invite new users.
Updating the Seat Quota #
- Click on your name in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Navigate to the Team Info tab.
- Under Current Seat Quota, input the total number of seats your team needs. If you already have 6 team members in Decision Console and want to add 2 more, you would enter 8 as the current seat quota.
- Once you click Update, you’ll be prompted to confirm via pop-up.
A few important notes:
- You can increase your quota by up to 10 seats per update. If you need to increase by more than 10 seats, you’ll need to update the Seat Quota multiple times.
- You cannot set the quota below your current number of used seats. Deactivate members first if you need to free up space before reducing the quota.
- You cannot set the quota to zero. A team always keeps at least one seat available for its Admin.
On a Trial plan, your seat quota is fixed by your agreement and is not able to be adjusted by an admin. Reach out at support@trestleiq.com if you’d like to add team members on a Trial plan.
Adding Members From the Team Info Tab #
- In the same Team Info tab where you update the seat quota, select Add Member above the team information menu.
- Enter the new user’s first name, last name, and email.
Adding Members From the Usage Menu #
- In the User Activity Breakdown section, select Invite User.
- Enter the new user’s first name, last name, and email.
After submitting the new member’s information, the system will send them an invite. The system sends an invite. Once the invited user accepts, the seat becomes active and per-seat billing begins. Mid-month seat additions are prorated for the remaining days in the billing cycle. New members are always added as a Console Analyst. To make someone an Admin, change their role after they’ve been added.
Changing a Team Member’s Role #
- Go to My Account, and select Team Info.
- Find the teammate’s row and use the Type dropdown next to their name.
- Select Admin or Analyst. The change takes effect immediately.
Deactivating or Reactivating a Team Member #
- Go to My Account, and select Team Info.
- Find the teammate’s row and click Deactivate, or Reactivate if they’re already deactivated.
- Confirm the action in the dialog that appears.
A deactivated team member immediately loses the ability to log in. You can reactivate them at any time to restore access.

Usage Reporting #
Every query run through Decision Console counts as one query, including the initial Verify Identity action and any reverse lookups triggered from the Details Panel. Trestle does not separate Dashboard queries from the Details Panel queries for usage tracking purposes.
The Usage page provides:
- Account-wide usage (Admin view): Aggregate query counts across the team, with a per-user breakdown including total queries, last active date, and status (active or pending).
- Individual usage (Analyst view): The Analyst’s own query counts over a selected timeframe (default: last 30 days).
Both views support timeframe filtering, with the default set to the last 30 days. You can also export usage data from the Usage page using Export Report, which pulls query counts and per-user activity out of the dashboard as a CSV for reporting or recordkeeping. Exporting reports is on-demand only. Decision Console doesn’t currently support automated or scheduled reporting.
Billing and Seat Management #
Decision Console is sold on an annual contract, billed monthly on a per-seat basis. Each Console Admin and Analyst count toward your billable seats.
A few specifics worth knowing:
- Mid-month seat additions are prorated for the remaining days in the billing cycle for Enterprise customers.
- Trial subscriptions have a fixed seat count set by your trial agreement. Contact your account executive to add seats on a Trial plan.
- Billing changes are handled by the Trestle team — contact support@trestleiq.com.
