We recently launched Trestle’s Phone Validation (with Connected and Disconnected Check) app within the Snowflake App Marketplace. This way, customers can validate their records within the Snowflake environment to ensure the phone numbers are valid and connected or update the records appropriately.
Below, we included a step-by-step guide on installing the app and validating the data within your Snowflake account.
Step 1 #
Install Trestle’s Phone Validation app. Of course, this is assuming you already have a Snowflake account.
Step 2 #
Once installed, you should see the app within your “Apps” menu on the left.
Click on this app to go through the setup and instructions. Though detailed, we will go over them here as well.
Step 3 #
After installing, the first thing to do is to configure the API key from Trestle to validate the phone numbers within your Snowflake account. This is required because the app uses Snowflake’s external access function to get real-time phone validity and connected/disconnected signals rather than any aged data.
At Trestle, we provide a free trial for our APIs, which you can sign up on our Developer Portal Sign Up page. Once signed up, you should get access to an API key that we will then take to configure within our Snowflake app.
To start the configuration, go to the “Security” section on the top right, as shown in the screenshot below.
Once there, follow through the following steps in “ReadMe:”
Step 4 #
You have now completed all the steps needed to configure and set up the app. The next step is to test it out. Here is a sample query to run on a single phone number basis:
SELECT code_schema.validate_phone('<phone_number>');Step 5 #
To run this app on a table containing phone numbers in the console, select the app under which the query needs to be run. The following query can then run through a table containing phone numbers that are in the TRESTLE_VALIDATE_PHONE_APP_DATA.PUBLIC.TO_PHONE_VALIDATE table.
SELECT phone_number, code_schema.validate_phone (phone_number) from TRESTLE_VALIDATE_PHONE_APP_DATA.PUBLIC.TO_PHONE_VALIDATEFinal Notes #
Please contact support@trestleiq.com to upgrade from the trial to an enterprise plan, or you can sign up for a pay-as-you-go self-serve plan.
If you want to run through a longer list of numbers, the API key’s current default QPS (queries per second) is 10. For assistance, contact support@trestleiq.com.
