Meet the Intern: Kabir Sabharwal
Tell us a little bit about yourself, background, and role. How did you land here?
I’m Kabir, currently working toward my Bachelor’s in Data Science at San Jose State University. Last summer, I worked as a software engineering intern at Nanonets (YC ’17), where I worked on automations and chatbots for both internal teams and customer interactions. This summer, I’m diving into sales automations at Trestle, using data pipelines and custom scripting.
I first connected with Kushal Shah, Co-founder and CEO, through a mutual contact, and after several conversations and interviews with Jordan Reynolds, Co-founder and CRO, it was clear we shared the same vision for data-driven sales. I immediately knew this is where I wanted to be next and couldn’t be more excited to be part of the team and help build tools that scale.
What excites you most about Trestle?
I was excited to join Trestle from my very first call with Jordan, where we immediately discussed areas where I could contribute. Since then, I’ve seen the tools and automations I build become part of the team’s daily routine, and I’ve received direct feedback from all the teams on how my contributions improve efficiency. This hands-on experience has been extremely valuable, as I’m able to work on real projects that make a tangible difference every day, one customer at a time.
What will you be working on during your internship?
During my internship, I’ll primarily focus on building and optimizing sales automation systems. This includes refining workflows for outreach, configuring tools to route and qualify leads more effectively, and enhancing integrations across our sales stack. I’ll also work on automating internal notifications and syncing data between platforms. By simplifying these processes, my goal is to support the sales team in spending more time engaging with prospects and less on repetitive tasks.
What are your plans after finishing the internship?
After this internship ends, I’ll return to San Jose to finish the remaining two years of my degree. Over the next academic year, I plan to bring the insights and skills I’ve gained here into my classes and personal projects, whether that means collaborating effectively across teams, or diving deeper into new things. Ultimately, when I graduate, I hope to step directly into a full‑time software role at a place like Trestle, where I can keep building solutions that make a real difference.
