Outbound Communications Platform Filters Out Disconnected Numbers for Customer Lead Lists


An outbound communications platform was looking to replace its existing solution to detect disconnected numbers due to scalability, latency, and pricing issues. Trestle’s Phone Validation API was the perfect fit for this customer, meeting all their needs along with superior coverage and accuracy.

The Challenge

Led by contact center veterans, our customer is an advanced outbound communications platform that improves customer experience for outbound dialing at scale. They do this through a single platform providing automated number management, accurate caller ID information, spam monitoring, and real-time attestation and remediation. On the data side, the customer offered clients phone validation and the ability to detect connected and disconnected numbers as a base tier package. This immediately provided a differentiated offering against their competitors. 

However, the current phone validation provider had various limitations, including high latencies, which impacted its ability to scale along with our customer’s needs by running large batches at a quick pace before loading them into their outbound dialers. This meant they had to plan these runs well in advance. It also meant their clients oftentimes had to wait a day, if not longer, before the runs were complete and the calls were ready to be made on the filtered list.

The Solution

This customer came across Trestle and immediately looked further into Trestle’s Phone Validation API for a few reasons including: our coverage and accuracy, how we are able to identify disconnected and inactive numbers, and our API latencies and ability to scale throughput (up to 500 queries per second in this case). The customer then tested us for coverage, accuracy, and latencies and immediately saw an improvement.

The Impact

This improvement, coupled with an overall savings of 60% from their existing solution, made it easy for the customer to make the switch. In a matter of a couple of weeks from being introduced to Trestle, the customer was deployed in production using the Phone Validation API at a scale of 100,000+ queries daily, which was not possible with their prior solution.
