  • Monthly Data Refresh: All Trestle API data were refreshed in July as part of our monthly practice to ensure the most up-to-date information is available.
  • New Spam Check Add-on: A new Spam Check Add-on identifies phone numbers associated with spam, returning is_spam through the API and in batch runs. Customers can enable it from the product detail pages in the Developer Portal. Spam data refreshes continuously.
  • Spam Risk in Data Assessment: The Real Contact Data Assessment now reports spam risk alongside litigator risk for records in an uploaded list.
  • Improved Line Type Accuracy: Line type and prepaid status are now returned for a wider range of carriers.

Real Contact API:

  • Expanded Name Matching: Real Contact 1.1 and 2.0 return a name match in more cases, for both phone and email inputs, with response times unchanged.
  • Business Name Support: Business names are now matched when supplied in the name parameter, alongside person names.

Decision Console:

  • Social Profiles: Console now shows the social profiles linked to an input email or phone number, including the platform, the name on the profile, the username, and the URL. Where several identities match the input, the strongest appears first. Sandbox data is available so users can try the feature before running live queries.
  • Phone-to-Address Match: The Phone Attribute Card now shows the Phone-to-Address Match result alongside the other phone checks.
  • Updated Identity Score: Identity Score is now calculated with an updated weighting model.

Decision Signals API:

  • Additional Phone Attributes: is_commercial, is_prepaid, and country_code are now returned in the Decision Signals API response.

Developer Portal:

  • Expanded Sign-Up Domains: Sign-up now accepts a wider range of business email domains.
  • Flexible Batch Input: Batch uploads now recognize first name and last name supplied in separate columns.
  • Faster Team Member List: The Add Team Member list now loads in pages with a load-more option, so it opens quickly for teams with many users.
  • Error Reporting by Type: Usage and error reporting now shows a breakdown by error type, with guidance on each one.

Integrations:

  • New Phone Validation App for HubSpot: A Phone Validation app is now available for HubSpot. It validates single contacts, bulk contacts, and lists, writing Phone Valid, Phone Activity Score, Phone Line Type, Phone Carrier, Litigator Risk, and Warnings to each contact. The app returns the standardized phone number to HubSpot and supports international numbers.
  • Litigator Check Add-on in HubSpot: Litigator Checks are available in the HubSpot app as an Add-on.

Reliability and Platform Improvements:

  • Access Control: When a product is disabled or revoked for a Console user, their queries now stop immediately.
  • Privacy Requests: The Platform API /privacy-requests endpoint now handles right-to-access requests, where a consumer asks what data is held about them.

  • Improved Phone-Address Matching: We’ve improved our Phone-to-Address Match coverage in Real Contact API.

Real Contact API:

  • New Phone-to-Address Match: A new phone_address_match attribute evaluates how closely an input address matches the phone subscriber’s location. Available only in version 2.0. Contact your account executive or support@trestleiq.com to enable. 
  • Improved Email Validation and Deliverability: We’ve expanded the coverage of our email deliverability warnings to include a wider variety of scenarios. 

Developer Portal:

  • Improved Onboarding Experience: Users are now automatically asked about their use case during onboarding to instantly recommend relevant products and improve customer experience.
  • Wallet and Billing Improvements: Self-serve users can now directly download receipts in Wallet payment emails, receive proactive spend limit warnings, and more easily enable/disable auto-refill. We have also improved visibility into monthly Wallet limits.

This output provides a numeric value ranging from 50-90 indicating how confident Trestle is that the returned name and queried phone number are strongly associated.

  • Security Updates: Addressed several low- and medium-severity vulnerabilities across the architecture, and implemented additional internal improvements to strengthen overall system security and resilience.

Trestle Free Data Assessment:

Depending on the user’s plan (trial, self-serve, or enterprise), users will see context-specific links that direct them to the relevant actions (self-serve page or contact us page), improving self-service and support efficiency.
  • Batch Upload Cancellation: Users can now cancel an active batch upload before it reaches 100% completion. This feature allows users to stop incorrect or unwanted uploads and ensures that partial data from completed queries is saved and available for download.
  • Dedicated Integrations Page Added: A new Integrations page has been introduced in the portal sidebar to centralize and increase the visibility of all available integrations. The page features a tile/grid layout for each integration, displaying the logo, name, and short description. Phone Validation API Features:

  • EKS Migration: Upgraded Phone Validation API architecture by migrating from AWS Lambda to Amazon EKS, improving overall performance, scalability, and availability.
  • International Phone Validation Improvements: Iterated and updated the logic for Activity Score calculations, especially for landlines and for scenarios where carriers take longer to respond for HLR (Home Location Registry) lookups. Users will now get more accurate results.

Real Contact API Features:

  • Privacy Emails Recognized: Real Contact API will now recognize emails used for privacy purposes that mask the real email address of the user, such as proton.me. These leads or sign-ups should be checked further for any other potential fraud indicators. Real Contact API response will appropriately adjust the grade (Email Contact Grade will be D), and appropriate warnings will be returned.
  • Add-On Support: A new add-on, Email Age Score, is now available to check the estimated age and activity of an email address. Customers can enable this by passing add_ons=email_checks_age as a request parameter for the API request. This is available for both real-time API calls and batch reports.

Developer Portal Improvements:

  • Usage Update Frequency: Usage data is now refreshed more frequently, providing near real-time visibility into API usage for all authenticated users. Updated usage counts will appear in the Developer Portal faster than before after the activity.
  • Minor UI Improvements: Minor UI fixes have been made to improve the user experience.
  • Internal Admin Capabilities: Internal admin capabilities have been significantly improved, which will help with faster turnarounds with certain customer service requests.

Across All Trestle API Products

Features:

  • Monthly Data Refresh: All Trestle API data was refreshed in April as part of our ongoing monthly practice to ensure the most up-to-date and accurate information is available. This refresh also included the ingestion of a new data source that significantly improved person-address linkage coverage and accuracy.
  • Secure Query Hashing: Customer query inputs (such as phone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses) are now securely hashed using the SHA-512 algorithm. These hashed values are retained for a maximum of two years to help enhance response accuracy, while ensuring that the original data remains irreversible and fully secure.

Improvements:

  • Enhanced Record Accuracy & Ranking: We’ve implemented changes across Reverse Phone, Caller ID, Phone Data, and Smart CNAME products to significantly improve the accuracy of the top-ranked or “belongs to” records, leading to more relevant and precise results.
  • Litigator Add-on Availability Expanded: The Litigator add-on is now accessible to all customer segments—trial, self-serve, and enterprise. Previously limited to enterprise users, this feature can now be enabled via the litigator_checks parameter or through batch CSV uploads.

Phone Validation API Features:

  • International Phone Validation Support: Phone Validation API now supports validation for international phone numbers, identifying whether a number is valid, assigned to a carrier, and currently in service worldwide.

Developer Portal

  • New Google Analytics Events: We’ve implemented additional tracking events in the Developer Portal, enabling more comprehensive analysis of user interactions.

  • Wallet Refill Information: A new feature has been added to the Admin-mode of Portal, displaying wallet refill information when this functionality is enabled for users.

  • Security Enhancements: Keys, secrets, and sensitive properties used in our services have been encrypted to further secure customer data.

  • UI Enhancements: Improvements were made to the pricing page, with updated secondary button colors and new wallet configuration options, including an increased maximum refill amount to $250.

Outbound Proxy

  • Email data API Calls: Outbound Proxy service, which is the centralized proxy service for all the external calls got updated with another provider who we use to get the latest email domain data. Fixes related to this provider including resolving domain name lookup issues and email connection warmup settings were improved to increase efficiency.

Phone APIs

  • Improved Phone Validation: Response headers now include additional information for the Real Contact and Phone Validation APIs. Non-fixed VOIP numbers with a score above 61 are now classified as Grade-C.

  • Reverse Phone 3.0, 3.1: Consolidated AWS Lambda functions of the Reverse Phone services to enhance development speed and maintenance.

  • Caller ID and CNAM Enhancements: Stability improvements for the Caller ID and CNAM services were rolled out.

Feedback API

  • Enhanced Feedback Integration: Feedback data is now more accessible, with integration of new feedback fields including connected status and party contact details within the Trestle network.

Bugs Fixed

  • Search by API Key: Fixed an issue where searches by API key in the Developer Portal were failing.

Improvements Across All Trestle API Products

  • Monthly Data Refresh: As part of our routine practice, all Trestle API data was refreshed in July to ensure the most current information is available.
  • Activity Score Calculations: We have enhanced the method used to calculate Activity Scores for better accuracy.
  • Carrier and Line Type Coverage: Our coverage for carrier and line type has improved through the addition of retry logic. In cases where the carrier information was not fetched on the first attempt, the system now retries automatically.

Find Person API

  • Postal Code Search Fallback Improvements: We’ve enhanced our Find Person API by adding fallback logic. When a unit or apartment number is missing or invalid, or if the house number is missing/invalid and we cannot find a response to the query, the search will be expanded to look for the person in the postal code. An appropriate warning has also been added: Search expanded using the valid location parameters.

Real Contact API

Bugs:

  • Resolved Attribute Issue:  A bug was caused by configuration parameters, resulting in decreased coverage, but it has been resolved.

Improvements:

  • Updated Free Email Provider database: The free Internet Service Providers (ISP) list has been updated to reflect the latest data.

Developer Portal

Features:

  • Pricing Page UI Update: We’ve redesigned the UI for the pricing page, specifically for the Self-Serve and Enterprise tabs.
  • Improved Error Messaging for “Make Test Request”: In the case of errors while using the “Make Test Request” feature, users will now see clear error messages in the response section, instead of generic “Something went wrong” toast notifications.
  • Company Name Conflict Notification: When a new user signs up for a Trestle Developer Portal account with the same company name as an existing company, they will no longer have access to self-service upgrades from Trial. If they attempt to upgrade, an error notification will display: “Company already exists, please contact support@trestleiq.com for assistance.”
  • Wallet Top-Up Limits: Monthly wallet top-ups are now capped at $750. Certain overrides are available if you contact customer support.

Improvements:

  • API Key Label Added: The “API Key” label has been added for improved clarity.
  • Make Test Request Clickability: The entire “Make Test Request” button is now clickable, not just the down-arrow.

  • Self-Serve Wallet: We’ve introduced a wallet feature that allows customers to top-up their balance and consume API products until the added amount is exhausted. The wallet also supports auto-recharge when the balance falls below a predefined threshold. Both top-up and auto-recharge options come with minimum and maximum limits.
  • Stronger Password Encryption: The password encryption algorithm in the developer portal has been enhanced to provide more robust security.
  • Billing Improvements: Internal improvements have been made to ensure seamless customer billing.
  • Faster Usage Refresh: Customer usage data now refreshes every 15 minutes, an improvement from the previous hourly updates.

  • Improvement Towards Activity Score Calculation: We’ve improved the accuracy of identifying phone numbers with a high activity score, ensuring better user insights.
  • Internal Monitoring Enhancements: We’ve continued to enhance our internal monitoring tools, reducing the time required for issue identification and resolution.

Real Contact API

  • Quarterly Email Validation Database Update: Similar to Phone Validation API, Real Contact API has also undergone a quarterly email validation database update, ensuring consistent email validation accuracy and reliability improvements.

Developer Portal

  • No Logging Support: Customers now have the option to disable logging for all queries made across any chosen products, providing enhanced privacy and data control.
  • Internal Billing Integration: We’ve integrated internal systems to streamline and enhance billing processes for our customers.

  • Invalid JSON Handling: A bug was fixed in our phone APIs where non-numeric inputs were returning is_valid = null instead of is_valid = false. This issue was resolved to ensure proper validation.

Real Contact API

  • Disposable Email Detection: The database used to identify disposable emails has been updated with the latest data, enhancing the accuracy of email validations.

Developer Portal

  • Test Requests from Home Page: Customers now have the option to make test requests directly from the developer portal’s user home page, improving ease of use.
