Trestle’s Q2 2024 Product Development Recap

Reflecting on Q2 2024, we’re proud to share updates on everything our team has been working on, including accuracy, scalability, security, cloud infrastructure, and API integrations.

Improved API Accuracy

One of the standout achievements this quarter is the improved accuracy of our phone lookup APIs: Reverse Phone API, Caller Identification API, and Smart CNAM API. We’ve specifically enhanced the accuracy of our phone owner rankings when considering family plans to rank the actual phone user as the top linkage. This is always tricky, considering the data we source. Still, the other signals we use and continue to iterate on have yielded an improvement of approximately 2% across our customer base. This is significant given the high bar with 80+% accuracy for our top-ranked linkages. Our team has also laid the groundwork for further updates in this area, which we plan to roll out in Q3 – stay tuned!

Uptime and Scalability

In Q2, we continued to ensure high uptime stability with several enhancements to reduce latency. The specific focus was on managing sudden load spikes to prevent corresponding changes in response times. As you can imagine, this is a continued effort, but a top priority is always handling these scenarios efficiently, ensuring our APIs remain fast and reliable even under unexpected loads.

Penetration Testing

We constantly talk internally and externally about security and privacy as the core operating tenets of Trestle. Part of this core tenet is the daily items done across the board – everything from multi-factor authentications and role-based access controls to various vulnerability scans, with all the necessary security and operating procedures documented and updated at a regular cadence. One of these processes we do regularly is our annual penetration testing. This is where external security vendors come in and try to attack our systems to find vulnerabilities that should be addressed. In June, we completed that test, and the identified vulnerabilities were fixed immediately to procure a clean report from the external security vendor.

Enhanced Cloud Infrastructure Security

In addition to penetration testing, we made significant updates to improve our security posture regarding our cloud infrastructure, including reviewing and limiting role-based access controls. While these improvements might not be immediately visible to our customers, they are crucial in enhancing our overall enterprise security. These efforts also streamline our internal processes, making our operations more efficient.

Integration Updates

In Q2, we updated our integrations with ActiveProspect and boberdoo to our Real Contact Version 1.1 release. This update is designed to provide a better, comprehensive lead verification solution for those using these services, including email and address data.

We also created a Right Party Contact API that can be integrated with ActiveProspect’s LeadConduit platform. The API verifies whether the information provided by the lead matches Trestle’s authoritative database, determining whether the phone number is valid and whether the lead’s name matches the phone owner.

Lastly, we added two new APIs to our Zapier integration. You can now use Smart CNAM to append names to phone numbers and Real Contact to verify your lead information in Zapier.

The themes mentioned above will continue in Q3 as well. We will spend a lot of time on (a) security enhancements for some upcoming certifications we are going through and (b) improved accuracy for our identity linkages and our Phone Validation API’s Activity Score. Stay tuned for these updates, and if you have any feedback or questions about the releases above, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
